It Hurts to be Horizontal

Witty (or possibly lame) banter between two friends.

Hello.

what are you going to be for Halloween?

So Nice When You're In Town...

We haven't had to keep this up. We can talk on the phone (or via e-mail or voice-mail) - but now with you going to NY to be a STAR - well, we'll be back on the horizontal train before you know it.

Good luck at your lunch today (or tomorrow).

Now you know...

when I get to New York we're going to have to start this blogging up again...

I can't wait!

If you weren't married...

I'd french you up the next time I saw you!!

Congratulations My Friend

Hey Jen,

I don't know when you'll get this message. We haven't posted since my May "un-birthday." Sadly.

But I wanted to drop you a quick note and tell you how PROUD I am of you.

Hell, I've told you this already, but I don't think you can tell someone enough that you're proud of them, how much you love them, or thank them.

So...

Get ready.

I'm proud of you.

I love you.

Thank you for being my friend.

Matt

I've been thinking about you....

In a good way.

I'm trying to search out some old files and, lo and behold, I find all the old paperwork you did when you worked here at Ethel Merman. So that made me think of you.

The fact that you're now 40 and I wasn't able to celebrate with you made me think of you.

The fact that I went out on Saturday Night and spent $83 on food and alcohol and another $14 on cover charges only to be ignored by my wife later that evening - okay, I didn't think about you about that, but still, spent $100+ dollars that night and no nookie! What's the world coming to.

Okay, back to you. Thinking about when you'll be coming home and your first party on your return (and hoping that Steve can come). That should be fun. I don't know if I ever told you what happened after your LAST party that both Steve and Miriam went to....

And your sweet calls to me.

I've been thinking about you... :)

Sure! C'mon down!

I'm in a funk today and willing to try and pull the cord on this possible job at Ryan Swanson - that would open up a position here at Heller.

Also...my co-worker Tom (who is single) just got two checks totalling $90,000 from his late father's insurance company. He is soon to get another check for $50,000. Once it all sinks in I'll bet you, dollars to donuts, he's going to tell Williams Lea to kiss his ass and walk out the door. So that will be another opening. Did I mention he's single?

So, yeah, when you land, come on down. I'll put in a good word for you. :)

five and a half weeks...

can I have a job? Oh yeah, that's right... you're no longer going to be manager.

Two Months is a Looooooong Time...

I shall count every day. Lo, every minute, until thou art in my arms again.
Bill Shakespeare - "Romeo & Juliet" - Act 2 Scene 3

Actually, I don't think he said that, I'm just making up this crap as I go along.

You know, Jen, some people go away and you say: "I'll miss you!" And, well, you don't. But some people go away and you seem to miss them more each day. And that's you. I miss you more each day.

I also can't tell you how proud I am of you for taking the risks, going into debt, going to a different city, living on your own, selling your kidney for beer money - all the things you've done to accomplish your goals.

You are, truly, an inspiration to me. And, again, I'm very proud of you.

See you soon, my friend, see you soon.

Matthew

two more months.

And then we can actually talk in person and not online. Think of all the things we can do... artistic collaboration, talk about sex (or the lack of it)... have parties... go for long walks on the beach.. Miriam can come with us. Go dancing at Debbie's Roadhouse... do community theater...

The opportunities are limitless!

Contradiction???

This morning I saw an add for "The Women's Show" or something like that to be held in Seattle. One of the guests is Oprah's trainer. Greene or something or other.

His topic I think is: 'Living a Healthy Life!'

Guess who he's sponsored by? McDonalds!

Funny... :)
